Whether you are visiting Bonaire with a family, with a group of friends, as a couple or as solo traveler, there are many great locations to explore on our fine little island in the Caribbean. Bonaire's best activitiesWe have made a selection of the "what not to miss when you are on Bonaire" activities as there is so much to choose from. This list is by far not complete and more activities can be found when visiting the website of the tourist office on Bonaire. Here are our favorite activities on BonaireExplore Washington Slagbaai National ParkBonaire's National Park offers a great day out to watch birds such as parrots, flamingos, parakeets, iguanas and other reptile species. The beaches inside the park are an important nesting ground for all four species of sea turtles found in the Caribbean. The last stop Boca Slagbaai offers an excellent snorkling & picnic stop.
Important: you must have a 4WD car to drive around the park Visit Klein BonaireKlein Bonaire is a small uninhabited island just off the coast of Bonaire. You can do some excellent snorkling from the white sandy "No Name" beach into the crystal blue waters. Either take a watertaxi to get there or rent your own little boat and relax at one of the few moorings.
Do some hikesExplore Bonaire from the many different hiking trails that are set via the pink marks. The south of the island is very flat and the north a little more challenging with a few hills. You will be rewarded with some breathtaking views. Just start on time and bring enough water! Rent a boatNothing more relaxing that renting your own boat with friends, fill up some coolers with drinks & snacks and explore the day at your own pace on the water. There are several boat companies from speed boats to smaller ones, with or without captain (selfdrive conditions may apply)
Visit the Donkey SanctuaryIf you're in for a good laugh as well as support the great work of the volunteers, then pay a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary of Bonaire. They save, treat, feed and protect more than 800 donkeys on their park, where you can freely drive around and enjoy these funny animals when they follow your car.
Explore the CavesBonaire offers a large cave system and some of them can be visited with a guide. There are dry caves to climb and hike as well as wet caves, where you can snorkel and swim and be surprised by this beautiful world under the rocks of Bonaire. Enjoy a sunset cruiseTreat yourself and your friends with an wonderful crew serving an excellent meal and drinks while you enjoy the beautiful sunset of Bonaire from the water. There are a few sunset cruise options available on the island, either on a sailboat or catamaran shared with other guests or for private rental.
Sightseeing toursFrom the cultural heritage sites in Rincon, exploring downtown Kralendijk, learn the history from the slavehuts or visiting the diffent animal sanctuaries, there are many different sightseeing tours offered by various partners. There will always be one that has your interest.
Go landsailingEnjoy some fun, adrenaline and adventure when the wind blows your kart along the special landsailing park of Bonaire. Lots of fun for a group of friends, families and thrill seekers.
